We help your leadership, admissions, marketing and communications teams create a clear sense of identity, stronger community, a more confident voice and better stories from the work already happening on your doorstep.
Most schools have a brand. Few use it well.
Your brand is more than a logo, a strapline or a values poster in reception. It is how people feel about your school. The stories they share. The decisions they make. The reason they join, stay, contribute and belong.
With the right advice, your school can stop talking about what it stands for and start showing it, every day.
Where brand gets stuck
Schools are full of powerful stories, but those stories are often scattered.
Admissions people say one thing. The website says another. Leaders reach for familiar phrases. Parents hear fragments that sound similar to every other school they visit. Staff know the school is special, but don't always have the language to explain why.
The result is a brand that may look polished, but does not guide communication, community or growth.
What NoTosh does
We work with your team over two focused sprints to define what your school stands for, build shared language and turn your brand into tools people use every day.
You will not leave with a slide deck that gathers dust. You will leave with the work done.
Brand Strategy for Schools is a working partnership.
Over two focused sprints, we work alongside your educational leadership, marketing, admissions and communications teams to define what makes your school distinctive and turn that clarity into practical routines.
The work is designed for schools that want thier brand to support community, belonging, admissions and reputation.
You bring the people who know the school. We bring the frameworks, facilitation, challenge and practical tools to help your team make the work usable.
Sprint 1: Define your brand
Five days. One hour a day.
In the first sprint, we help your team build the foundations of a compelling brand strategy.
You will:
- define your right to win, so your school becomes more distinctive and protectable
- use the Brand Pyramid to create stronger stories and shared language
- develop your school’s tone of voice
- explore how a custom GPT can help more people communicate effectively
- use the Brand Clock framework to connect communications, admissions and in-school experience
After five live sessions, you will have the start of a compelling brand strategy, and a month of space to test, refine and put your thinking into action.
Sprint 2: From strategy to action
Again: Five days. One hour a day.
The second sprint turns your developing brand strategy into weekly routines, stronger communication and practical tools.
You will:
- create a clear brand story your whole team can use
- design proactive communication instead of reacting to whatever lands that week
- plan for the key types of family in your school community
- shape storytelling that brings your community together and attracts new families
- learn writing structures for newsletters, landing pages and campaigns
- create practical communication plans without hiring an agency
After this sprint, you will be putting your brand to work every week, supported by monthly check-ins alongside other schools around the world who've already done the hard work themselves.
The work does not end when the live sessions finish.
Small group surgeries and masterminds
As you apply what you learn, you can bring your questions, challenges and next steps to regular mastermind groups that keep building your tone of voice, brand story, custom GPTs and practical communication routines.

What makes this different
Most brand work happens in isolation from the people who need to use it the most often. It ends up belonging to the marketing team, rather than the wider school, living in documents. It ends up focussing on straplines and slogans rather than meaning, and fades over time.
The NoTosh approach:
- involves your whole team, including educational leadership
- builds clarity before communication
- turns strategy into daily routines
- starts being used immediately
This is brand as school strategy, not decoration.
Who should take part?
Brand Strategy for Schools works best when the right mix of people join the process.
A strong team includes:
- Head of School and Principals
- admissions lead
- communications or marketing lead
- advancement or development lead
- senior leaders
- divisional leaders
- people responsible for parent communication
- people with a strong feel for the school’s culture and story
One price covers around a dozen participants from your school team, with personal logins for each person. The return on investment is baked in: by involving your chief communicators we believe you make back what you invest in new students, as well as greater community engagement and belonging.
How much is one new student worth to your school?
The return on a strong brand strategy is practical.
New families are more likely to understand and choose your school. Current families are more likely to feel satisfied with their experience and clearer about what the school stands for. Staff communicate with more consistency. Leaders spend less time reinventing language. Communications become more purposeful, less last-minute and more connected.
In international and independent schools, one additional family choosing your school can be worth many times the cost of the programme.
But the value is not only recruitment.
A strong brand helps the people already inside your school feel part of something they can recognise, explain and believe in.
What schools say:
“Our messaging was scattered. Now we clearly articulate what makes us different.”
Anna Quijano, Trinity School, Menlo Park
“So powerful. Now our brand guides how we grow as a school.”
Anita Banic Krstevska, Admissions and Communications Director, NOVA International School, Skopje
“This helped us move from jargon to focus on our own ‘secret sauce’.”

Focused, practical and affordable enough for a school team to begin quickly.

Frequently asked questions
How much time will this take?
The live programme is built around two focused sprints: five one-hour sessions in the first week, followed by time to test and develop your thinking, then five more one-hour sessions in the second sprint.
The rhythm is deliberately intensive. It gives your team momentum, shared language and practical outputs quickly.
Is this only for marketing teams?
No. In fact, it works best when marketing, admissions and communications are joined by educational leadership.
A school brand is not just what you publish. It is what people experience. That means leaders, teachers and communicators need shared language.
Will we leave with practical outputs?
Yes. Every session is designed around deliverables for your school. You are not just learning about brand strategy. You are building your own.
What if we are already successful?
This work is not remedial. We have done it with some of the strongest schools and leaders in the world.
Successful schools often have excellent work happening everywhere. Brand strategy helps make that work easier to understand, easier to share and easier to build on.
